RBA June Minutes Set For Release
(RTTNews) - Australian traders get a look Tuesday at the thinking behind the Reserve Bank of Australia’s latest monetary policy decision.
The RBA releases minutes from its June 3 meeting, at which time it left its Official Cash Rate unchanged at its 12-year high of 7.25 percent. In his statement accompanying that announcement, RBA Governor Glenn Stevens said it appeared the central bank’s tight monetary policy, coupled with other national and global factors, was producing a moderation in demand.
Nonetheless, Stevens noted the need to delicately balance demand against the possibility of inflation, which he said was “likely to remain relatively high” in the short term.
New Zealand’s calendar of economic news is clear for Tuesday.
The RBA minutes are scheduled for release at 01:30 GMT.
