Malaysia’s International Reserves Increase As On August 29
(RTTNews) - Friday, a report released by the Bank Negara Malaysia showed that its international reserves amounted to US$122.6 billion as on August 29. This was an increase from US$123.7 billion recorded as on August 15.
The bank said the reserve position is sufficient to finance about 9.6 months of imports and 4.3 times the short-term external debt.
During this period, the foreign currency reserves amounted to US$116.9 billion, while the IMF reserve position totaled US$0.2 billion. The SDRs were valued at US$0.2 billion and gold reserves accounted for US$0.3 billion and other reserves assets came in at US$ 5 billion.
