As you probably know, we like to expose financial scams or schemes of dubious content and execution. Our warnings here on GraceCheng.com have saved quite a few people from falling into these scams. A few months ago, people started asking our opinion about this company called Sunshine Empire, which operates in several Asian countries (like Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan) including Singapore.
They said that if you ‘invest’ a sum (typically at least US$7000) with them, you will be guaranteed of a certain percentage return every month. They are also encouraged to get their friends and family to ‘invest’ with Sunshine too. We think that sounds just like a ponzi scheme.
Anyway, it was reported today that Sunshine Empire is now placed on the MAS alert list and that of Malaysia’s Securities Commission a few months ago. Great. Somehow, we get the feeling that those who have already ‘given’ their money to Sunshine are now feeling even more pressured to recruit other people into the scheme as they sense the outcome of their ‘investment’ depends on other members giving money.
Don’t be fooled by a swanky office presence or the number of employees a company has. And don’t be fooled by get-rich-quick scams. There are other ways to grow your money.
If you are suspicious or unsure about any financial investment schemes, please contact us as your information could come in handy.
